About Greener Indigo…
Greener Indigo is designed to be an online ‘hub’ for green living and cleaning – whether you’re looking for an extra pair of hands to help in your home or some tips and advice on how to ‘do-it-yourself’!
The Early Days…
Before Greener Indigo, I ran an eco-friendly domestic cleaning business between 2010 and 2014 – called Natural Gleam .
Natural Gleam was born out of a passion for clean, healthy homes mixed with an eco-friendly and holistic ethos.
It was originally set up to provide an eco-friendly home cleaning service in the North Lancashire area. This has evolved into a focus of helping other cleaning companies who want to ‘clean green’ to build their business, especially online.
Natural Gleam spent many years successfully getting referrals and new customers through the website (which was built & optimised in-house), and also through social media channels like Twitter & Facebook.
A Cluttered History…
I’m passionate about helping to create ‘holistic homes’. These are places that are free from clutter, cleaned ethically, and function beautifully promoting wellbeing on a physical, mental and emotional level.
One of the main reasons that I have an interest in helping people declutter their homes and offices was because I was not always uber-organised…in fact, I grew up in a cluttered environment! As a child, I lived in houses that underwent extensive renovations – so that meant ‘multi-purpose’ rooms, piles of clutter and a fair bit of dust!
I too also found it difficult to throw things I no longer used or needed away – resulting in a fairly large hoard of plastic & glittery ‘tack’! Things changed when I left for uni – my tiny student room was overrun with stuff. Slowly but surely, I learnt to let go of the objects that served no purpose and that were just space-hogging reminders of the past. Yes, it was uncomfortable at first; but I noticed that I felt much ‘freer’ without all that stuff hanging around.
Nowadays, I believe that it’s really important to let go of the things in life that no longer serve you – whether that’s physical objects, mental thought patterns or emotional responses. Twice a year I go through my possessions to see if I need to get rid of anything with the Golden Rule: Keep; Sell; Recycle; or Bin?
