Grapeseed Oil for Oily Skin
Ok, when I first heard about this, I have to admit – the concept of putting more oil on my face did NOT sound appealing.
By the end of a normal day, I have a forehead you could fry chips on. Nice. Looking on the positive side, this is supposed to mean that I’ll get less wrinkles…
Anyway, I’m going grapeseed. Before I start my experiment, here’s a little info about this awesome oil…
Grapeseed Oil – Vitis Vinifera
Grapeseed Oil has antioxidant properties, meaning that it can prevent skin pores from clogging up. This is why we get those epic face-monsters, and it’s the main reason why some of us have acne-prone skin.
Regular application of the oil can help with not only preventing acne, but also with curing any existing breakouts – thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties.
Dark eye-bags are the worst. Whether you had a heavy night or like me you’ve had them ever since you were a child, grapeseed oil can help reduce the appearance and puffiness that the bags bring. Dab onto the delicate under-eye area.
Dab the oil onto lines and wrinkles too and get rid of that stupidly expensive cream!
The astringent properties of grapeseed oil help to tone and tighten the skin, which again is great for the ‘oilies’!
Finally, because the oil is so light and easily absorbed, it actually makes a really good moisturiser. It doesn’t leave any residue and it’s great for sensitive skins too.
So we know about the benefits, now we want to see results right?! Here’s where I step in as Chief Guinea Pig 🙂
Here is a picture of me today – I’m not going to share one with no make-up on because we are nowhere near Halloween yet. I’ve got BB cream and a bit of concealer on, and as it’s a few hours since I washed my face, I’m starting to get a bit greasy…
For the next week, I am going to apply grapeseed oil at least once per day, and see what happens.
I don’t know if it will make a lot of difference with my eye-bags because they appeared when I was 4 and have not left since…
Anyway, to the bathroom! See you in a week!
